When it comes to some hairstyles, sometimes we need a little help from our Milk + Blush Hair Extensions for our look to be on point. This week I’m showing you how to create a super flawless and voluminous French braid using clip-in hair extensions.

A French braid is such a classic hairstyle and for good reason. It’s cute and elegant while still being practical however some of us need a little help in the length and thickness department when it comes to an Elsa-worthy braid. Enter: hair extensions - it’s a great way to elevate your natural braid and it couldn’t be simpler!

What you’ll need:

  • Milk + Blush hair extensions (I usually opt for my Milk + Blush Quad Weft Set (link) in the length 20-22” when creating a French Braid, but you can opt for any of our sets depending on your own hair type and the kind of look you’re going for)

  • Comb

  • 1 section clip

  • 1 hair elastic

Method:

  • Start by gently backcombing your hair in sections at the front for some volume.

  • Split your hair down the middle at the back and clip one section up and out of the way.

  • Gently backcomb the roots of the parting for added grip.

  • Clip in a weft vertically along this part and clip in as many extra wefts on top of this one as you like. I start with a 3-clip and then place a 2-clip on top (if you're using the Classic Set I’d recommend using one 3-clip and two 2-clip wefts).

  • Repeat this on the other side - the seams of the wefts should meet in the middle on the part.

  • Once the wefts are secure brush all of your hair back

  • Take a section of hair at the top of your head and split into three and cross the outside sections over to the middle

  • Holding the hair in one hand use your thumbs to scoop up hair from either side of your face and add it into the outside sections as you work your way down the braid

  • Once you can’t incorporate any more hair finish with a three strand braid and secure the end with an elastic

  • Gently pull on the finished braid to make it even thicker
