Halloween: Zombie Bride Tutorial

zombie-bride-milk-and-blush-halloween We’re back again this year with another gorgeous tutorial for our favourite holiday, Halloween! We decided to go for this classic zombie bride look that’s a little cooler than Lindsay Lohan’s vibe in Mean Girls but still totally terrifying. As always, we’re going to break everything down into easy step by step bites so that you can recreate the look at home. Here’s what you need to do…

Make Up

Step 1

Mix white face paint and a porcelain foundation to create the perfect base and apply it using a foundation brush to get the best coverage. You can take it down as low as you need to on your neck but don’t worry about your ears as your hair will cover them anyway. zombie-bride-milk-and-blush-halloween

Step 2

For the smokey eye we used the Urban Decay Heat Palette and blended the shades Cayenne and En Fuego to get the red shade. Work the colour all the way up to your brow bone and under your eye and try to mimic the shape of your eye socket. zombie-bride-milk-and-blush-halloween zombie-bride-milk-and-blush-halloween

Step 3

Next we used the shade Blackout from the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette to really smoke out the eyes. You want to concentrate this in the centre to leave the red shade on the outside so  pack it on your eyelid and close to your lash line.

Step 4

Finish off your eyes with a thick sweep of black liquid eyeliner, we used the Stila Stay All Day Liner in black. You can then use a mascara to bulk up your lashes or some falsies if you want to. zombie-bride-milk-and-blush-halloween zombie-bride-milk-and-blush-halloween

Step 5

Line your lips using a black eye liner pencil and then apply a dark red lipstick in the center to create an ombre effect. You can then drag this down the corner of your lip on one side to create the blood drip. Just draw the outline with your black liner and then blot your lipstick on top.

Step 6

Next you can fill in your brows and you want to go super dark and heavy with this. We use the Anastasia Dipbrow in Dark Brown.

Step 6

To finish the look contour your face using a dark brown shadow, we chose the Natural Collection Mono eyeshadow in Toasted Walnut. It’s best to press this on with a beauty blender to avoid removing any of your face paint. You can go as dark and heavy as you like with this as you want your face to look really sunken and chiselled.

Hair

Step 1

To start the look clip in your M+B hair extensions as normal. We used the 20-22” Luxurious Set in the shade Love This Feeling for our corpse bride.

Step 2

It’s really important to prep your hair with a heat protector before you start styling. We applied the GHD Heat Protect Spray in sections to get the best coverage. zombie-bride-milk-and-blush-halloween

Step 3

Start with a section of hair at the nape of your neck and use a curling wand (we used the GHD Curve Creative Curl Wand) picking different size sections of hair as you go. You also want to alternate the direction you curl each time as this will help to make the hair look more natural and textured. Once you get to the top sections you want to leave your roots mostly straight so avoid taking the wand too close to your roots.

Step 4

Next cover your hair with hairspray to set everything in place, we used the H&M Session Hairspray for this and we’re obsessed with the packaging. You can then leave them to cool completely for around 10 minutes.

Step 4

To add texture break up the hair with your fingers and then push your hands up your hair to loosely backcomb for lots of volume. zombie-bride-milk-and-blush-halloween

Step 5

To complete the look use a texturising spray to add more volume and body to the hair. We love the Toni & Guy Rough Texturiser Spray and applied loads of it throughout the lengths. zombie-bride-milk-and-blush-halloween

Step 6

To complete the look pop a veil across your face or a classic veil at the back of your head. We found this clip on one from Asos and we think it looks really good with the zombie bride makeup look.
