7 Hat Hairstyles To Wear This Autumn

It’s officially autumn and with it we’re so ready to revamp our wardrobes and try out some new looks. As hats are a style staple in the colder months it figures that we’d start thinking about the perfect hairstyles to match. So before it gets too cold to function here are 7 hat hairstyles that you need to wear this autumn.

Chic Low Bun

How To: To create this loose, low bun start by putting soft waves through your hair with a hair straightener and then add some texture spray for extra volume. Next, sweep back your hair into a low pony but leave out some face framing layers and keep it loose. You can then twist your pony into a messy bun and pin it in place using bobby pins. Finish with a dust of hairspray and you’re done.

Loose Waves

How To: To create these waves you’ll need to curl your hair away from your face using a big barrel curling wand. Start by taking a section at the nape of your neck and make sure to work in bigger sections to loosen the curls. You then want to repeat this step for the rest of your hair until you’re done. Once they’re cool you can then take a brush and loosen up the waves for a more relaxed look.

Chunky Braid

How To: This is a really easy braid that looks way more complicated than it actually is. Start by splitting your hair into three sections and then take the middle section and braid it all the way down. You then want to braid the three sections together as normal and secure it at the end with an elastic. Once you’re done pinch and pull on the braid for some extra thickness and add some serum to control flyaways if you need to.

Mermaid Waves

How To: To get the best result it’s best to use a hair waver tool for this look. We’d recommend the Babyliss Deep Waves Waver as it’s the perfect size for long hair and has really deep waves. To start prep your hair with a heat protector and some dry shampoo or texturising spray for extra volume. Then, working in small sections use the waver to crimp down the lengths of your hair and repeat the process until all your hair is done. You can then finish with some hairspray to hold everything in place.

Low Pony

How To: To create this look start by loosely running your straighteners through your hair to smooth out any kinks. Next pull it back into a low pony but leave out some face framing layers and pull your elastic slightly lower down for a more relaxed look. To finish, spray your pony with some texturising spray and scrunch it for extra volume.

Messy Side Braid

How To: To create this look simply pull your hair to the side and braid it in a really loose braid. Once you’re done tie the end with an elastic and pinch and pull on your hair to loosen up the braid. You can also pull out as many strands around your face as you like.

Straight Blow Dry

How To:  To create this look it’s best to start with wet hair and to blowdry your hair straight using a paddle brush. Once it’s dry you can then use your straighteners to iron out any areas that are still wavy and finish with some balm to add lots of shine.
