Cheryl Cole's Hair

Cheryl Cole's hair

If you haven’t heard the news that Cheryl Cole is returning to the UK X Factor by now, then seriously, where have you been? Besides being the topic of gossip this week, Cheryl Cole’s hair has also had its fair share of the limelight, too. And, with going blonde recently, we thought we would dig through her hair archive to familiarise ourselves with her most memorable hairstyles and biggest hair flops…

There’s no denying that Cheryl is one of the nation’s most loved personalities, especially after her cheating husband Ashley Cole did the dirty on her! But what we love about Cheryl, is that no matter how many times she falls down, she always has a brand spanking new hairstyle to pick herself up with. For instance, we loved how she reinvented herself with big, voluminous waves and ditched the hair extensions for a graduating, blonde bob, too.

Starting off with Cheryl Cole’s hair has also been a plethora of different shades, too. The singer’s hair has been bleached, darkened and dip-dyed, but of all the shades Cheryl has experimented with, our favourite hue of hers has to be cherry red. Not only do we Dirty Looks girls admit to trying this shade on for size, girls everywhere too, dyed their hair red to copy Cheryl Cole’s colour. Even to this day, Cheryl is our redhead colour chameleon and is the inspiration behind our Berry Red clip in hair extensions.

Moving on to updos, Cheryl is brave when it comes to tying her hair up. Whether it’s working a classic top knot, braiding her hair into a chic plait or pinning her hair into a sultry side ponytail- without question, Cheryl Cole’s hair is always big, bold and beautiful! However, there are a couple of hairstyles we’re sure Cheryl would love to forget about and keep hidden away in her closet.

Crime number one- who remembers Cheryl’s cornrows? During Girls Aloud’s heyday, Cheryl was guilty of putting her hair in cornrows, which did nothing for the beauty except highlight her scalp. Crime number two was her unbelievably huge bouffant- don’t get us wrong, we love the Bardot-inspired updo, but we think that Cheryl took her bouffant a little too far here. And, who can forget her iconic hairstyle at the American X Factor auditions? We’re still on the fence about this big voluminous ‘do, despite the rest of the world hating on it.

We’re looking forward to seeing Cheryl back on our screens in August and seeing which hairstyles she will be bringing to this year’s judging panel! What’s your favourite Cheryl Cole hairstyle?
