AW13 hair trends. Where to begin? There are so many! With a plethora of officially ‘in’ styles to choose from, we’re feeling totally spoilt for choice this season. If you fancy trying your hand at creating a new ‘do now autumn is upon us, take a look at our round-up of the most wearable AW13 hair trends to choose your next target from…
Valentino championed the humble plait at his Paris Fashion Week show earlier this year, laying the ground for braids to make a welcome return to high streets everywhere this season. But it’s not just the loose, plaited-to-one-side style his models rocked on the runways that we’re loving right now; pretty much anything goes when it comes to this AW13 hair trend! We’re going to be copying Vanessa Hudgens’ recent ombre halo style, Olivia Palermo’s side-swept messy plait and Taylor Swift’s ponytail with a mini fishtail twist. And that’s just for starters!
Now this is one look that shouldn’t take too many hours of prepping and teasing to recreate (we hope)! Follow the lead of models at Burberry Prorsum and Helmut Lang and wear your hair loose and slightly dishevelled for an effortless everyday style. Celebrities currently showing their love for the natural AW13 hair trend include models Karlie Kloss, Suki Waterhouse and Cara Delevingne. But then, they’re naturally perfect anyway!
Sleek, low ponytails were put in the spotlight when they were showcased at Moschino’s Milan Fashion Week AW13 show, and we’ve noticed the simple ‘tail popping up on the heads of celebrities ever since. Beyoncé matched the catwalk trend like for like with her super shiny, low style, whereas Sienna Miller went for a slightly haphazard, girl-next-door pony. And we were hit with a bout of ponytail envy when our quirky style icon Bip Ling opted for a high, 90s ponytail with a cute floppy bow.
It seems that anyone who is anyone has a fringe right now. And we want in. Inspired by Marni and Emilio Pucci’s AW13 collections, this season’s bangs are full, thick and straight. If we can summon the courage, we’ll be taking snaps of Bella Thorne and Zooey Deschanel to the hairdresser’s and demanding carbon copies of their bangs. But, if we wimp out, we can always make like Kim Kardashian and clip in a fake fringe instead (hello, Bobby Glam Clip In Bangs).
There’s got to be something for everyone to try among this little lot! Which AW13 hair trend will you be giving a go first?
